KSA 'won’t build power generation units without CO2 capture'

Saudi Arabia will no longer build any future power generation without carbon capture, Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman has been quoted as saying.
 
He made these remarks during the inauguration of the 7th edition of the activities of Iktva 2023 Program for Accelerating Future Success in Dhahran, according to a report in Saudi Gazette.
 
He noted that Saudi Arabia is working to increase the gas production by 60 per cent. Work is under way to add 4,000 km to gas lines.
 
He also said that the Kingdom is determined to significantly increase its production capacity of oil.
 
He added that it is also planning to produce hydrogen and secure green and blue clean hydrogen, and then export it to the world.
 
Prince Abdulaziz said that Saudi Arabia's investments on clean energy would exceed SR1 trillion by 2030.
