Samsung unveils new dual SIM card phone

Manama, June 22, 2008

Samsung has revealed its new dual SIM card mobile phone D780.

A new addition to the Duos family, it comes with two separate SIM card slots and dual standby.

“The D780 is a sophisticated phone that offers the consumer great flexibility in mobile coverage with the added convenience of business and multimedia capabilities,” Samsung Gulf Electronics general manager of hand held phones Sandeep Saihgal said.

The new model is the second dual-SIM phone of the company's portfolio. It also has dual standby for convenient access to both SIM cards simultaneously.

“The D780 is a business friendly mobile phone. The sleek and streamlined shape with the glossy mirror like surface adds a professional polish to the phone. It is equipped with a 2.1”QVGA TFT screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixel displaying up to 256K colours,” Saihgal said.

The mobile phone applies GPRS/EDGE connectivity to provide strong multimedia capabilities. It has a dedicated music interface that supports multi format music files to make listening easier.

Moreover, the 2.1” large LCD screen offers convenient multimedia mobile experiences including MP3 player and a 3 mega pixel primary camera. The device also provides access to e-dictionary, easy phonebook search and multi tasking features as well as USB v2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 for full speed connectivity.

Another feature is the large battery which uses 1200mA that is significantly more than other batteries. The user will be able to access dual roaming feature of the phones, which requires more battery power for the constantly searching signals, without depleting battery life. – TradeArabia News Service
