Samsung launches latest camcorders at Gitex

Dubai, October 23, 2008

Samsung has unveiled two new powerful compact digital camcorders, the VP-MX20 that allows users to easily shoot videos ideal for uploading to YouTube, and the VP-HMX20, with a1080p mode with 30 frames-per-second recording capability, at the ongoing Gitex Technology Week.

“There is no denying that user generated content is on the rise, in January, nearly 79 million viewers watched more than three billion user-posted videos on YouTube. At Samsung we saw that it was important to provide customers with a camcorder that included a format that was easy to upload to YouTube,” said BJ Kim, general manager, AV Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

“This new lineup of camcorders has been engineered specifically for people who want to capture more vivid memories and easily share them on multimedia devices and the internet,” he added.

VP-MX20 has a new platform offering high video quality, longer recording times and low power consumption for SD camcorders to meet customer’s demands. It features the longest battery life in its class – up to three hours, applying H.264 CODEC to SD camcorders.

Samsung’s VP-MX20 with H.264 more than doubles the compression ratio so that it takes less time to send video files via email or upload them onto the internet.

VP-HMX20C features Full HD and a 1080p mode with 30 frames-per-second recording capability, the VP-HMX20C’s flash-based design makes this camcorder compact and easy-to-use.

With an included docking station, users will find it simple to not only charge the VP-HMX20C, but utilize the HDMI input and component connectivity to easily view home movies directly on an HDTV, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
