An Indian doctor visiting relatives in Dubai has won Dh2 million ($544,514), the largest prize at the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival in a joint promotion by Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre - ‘Dream Big’.

Dr Kishan MK from Bangalore was on his first journey to Dubai. He landed in the UAE on February 26 to visit his relatives in Dubai, and bought some gifts and groceries from Deira City Centre on the same day.

Just thirty six hours later, as the month-long DSF drew to a close, Dr Kishan became the season’s luckiest shopper walking away with two million dirhams.

'I was with my uncle when I received the call telling me I had won, and I simply didn't believe it,' said an elated Kishan.

As part of the Dream Big Raffle prize by Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre, the winner Dr Kishan was offered the choice of his own Tuscan villa, a luxury sports car, a private yacht, or the Dh2 million cash equivalent.

Fuad Al Najjar, vice president, Deira City Centre believes the prize is a great example of how the Dubai Shopping Festival is an international event that welcomes people from across the world to taste the hospitality of Dubai.
