500 brands at Dubai jewellery show

Dubai, November 28, 2010

Over 308 exhibitors representing 500 plus brands from 26 countries showcased a range of precious gems, contemporary and traditional jewellery designs and one-off collectors’ items at a recently concluded jewellery event in Dubai.

Dubai International Jewellery Week ran at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and was organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The high quality of consumers evident at the show this year were drawn to the stunning collections on offer from designers such as Dhamani, Mahalatti, Forever Jewels and Italian designer Graziella, said a statement.

“Dubai International Jewellery Week has proved it is not only the region’s most impressive event of its kind in terms of quantity, but also in quality,” said Trixee Loh, senior vice president, DWTC.

“The calibre of exhibitors was world class and the visitors to the show, both trade and consumer, reflected that. The Middle East has a long history of international trading in high class jewellery, and this week has shown that tradition is still very much alive,” Loh added.

Cihan Akdere, ME sales manager at Ze’la Jewels, said, “We believe Dubai International Jewellery Week is one of the best shows of its kind in the world. Ze’la Jewels is very happy to be here as an exhibitor this year.”

“We have been participating for the past fifteen years and year on year it’s been a great platform to showcase products for local consumers from the UAE and all around the Gulf. This year’s show saw many high end clients visiting,” added Amit Dhamani, CE, managing director, Dhamani.

“The feedback from our exhibitors is that the event continues to go from strength to strength, and each year there are new leads, new networks and new markets,” Loh continued.

“Dubai International Jewellery Week is a pillar of the industry across the region, and increasingly across the world. International manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers know that Dubai is a major hub for the jewellery trade in the Middle East, and with the high quality of consumers in the region, this is one of the essential markets for overseas expansion. This event has been a great ambassador for the region’s jewellery industry.”

Visitors could also attend the invaluable Diamond Discovery Workshop and experience mini treatments from the luxurious SPA InterContinental using the Natura Bissé diamond range featuring real crushed diamonds.

Dubai International Jewellery Week also hosted a series of seminars and workshops allowing industry professionals to share best practice and discuss the latest developments in the field.

The Dubai International Jewellery Week will return next year from November 10 to 13, 2011 in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. – TradeArabia News Service
