Samsung launches 4-door fridge

Amman, April 18, 2011

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and consumer goods, has unveiled a new refrigerator featuring four doors including a freezer drawer, mid-drawer and main double French doors.

The new AW3 refrigerator has three extra cubic feet of volume compared to conventional models, a statement said.

“Before we began developing and designing the AW3 series, we carefully examined how consumers interact with their refrigerators,” said Sangsuk Roh, president of Samsung Electronics Levant.

“We identified what consumers want and need from a refrigerator and incorporated these features into the four-door AW3 series. The result is a stunning, sleek home appliance specifically developed to address consumers’ food storage requirements.”

Key features of the fridge compartment include LED lighting that illuminates every corner of the fridge. Samsung’s new water filter is now placed between the “veggie boxes” for hassle-free filter changes.

Nestled in the middle of the refrigerator is an extra food storage compartment called the mid-drawer. Samsung designed this drawer to seamlessly integrate with consumers’ contemporary kitchens since the drawer is aligned with the height of modern countertops.

Additionally, the AW3’s adjustable Smart Divider organises frequently accessed products like meats, beverages and snacks.

Consumers can separately control foods in the mid-drawer with different temperature settings using Samsung’s new Café Look Dispenser, which illuminates an icy-blue light on a full touch panel display to easily monitor and modify settings.

Moving down toward the freezer compartment, a slight pull of the newly designed handle bar will slide out the two fully extended freezer drawers of the AW3.

The top drawer fully extends until the end of the bottom drawer so users can easily reach the items they need, and a small “Snack Pocket” can be found inside of the freezer box as an ideal location for small-sized snacks such as ice cream bars.

The fridge also features Samsung’s Twin Cooling Plus technology, which provides precise temperature control by cooling the refrigerator and freezer compartments individually.

The AW3 will be making its debut in the Middle East soon, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
