Top retail brands open at Qatar mall

Doha, February 20, 2012

Lagoona Mall, Qatar’s newest retail and lifestyle destination, said eight new international brands are set to open in the coming weeks marking the third wave of retail launches at the mall.

Spanning 128,000 sq m and situated on two floors, Lagoona Mall is located at the bottom of the Zig Zag Towers in Doha’s West Bay district. It will house over 160 stores, 16 F&B outlets and 2,000 parking lots.

The mall has already introduced over 50 well-known brands since its launch in 2011.

Famous names such as Spanish high street fashion giant, Mango; Pronovias, the leading bridal house; Bose, innovators in audio and digital music systems; RB, American sunglasses and eyewear retailer; Jeff de Bruge, luxury French chocolatier; and Adolfo Dominguez, the popular Spanish prêt a porter fashion designer, are all being added to the retail mix this February, said a senior official.

In addition to these brands, two new food outlets will also open soon, said mall's general manager, Eamon Kelly.

'Shoppers will be able to enjoy mouth watering desserts at Sugar & Spice bakery and café or sip on a cup of freshly brewed coffee at Bert’s Café. In March sublimely healthy and beautifully presented fresh fruit will be on offer from Edible Arrangements,' he noted.

Commenting on the recent additions, Kelly said: 'This is such an exciting time for Lagoona Mall, not to mention Doha residents and visitors alike, as we continue to open more of the brands that we know our customers want to see.'

'Despite the numerous malls that Doha has, some of the biggest names in retail such as Bose and RB have chosen to be represented at Lagoona Mall which is testament to everything that we are trying to achieve,' the official said.

According to him, more stores are earmarked to open in the near future.

Mouawad jewellery will add yet more glamour to the luxury fashion category, while the Piazza area is set to offer some sixteen new restaurants and cafés including Wagamama and Outback Steakhouse and a Zigo Zigo Italian Cafe.

“We are bringing a huge number of well-known and well-loved international brands to Qatar for the first time as part of our strategy to offer the very best in retail to our shoppers and to provide them with an unparalleled shopping experience,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
