130 firms showcase take part in top jewellery show

More than 130 exhibitors from 15 countries are presenting their latest and unique line of designs at the 20th edition of the International Jewellery and Watch Show, which opened yesterday in Abu Dhabi.

Dr Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State, inaugurated the region's premier jewellery and watch event, being organized by Reed Exhibitions, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (Adnec). The show will run till May 5.

Speaking after inaugurating the show, Dr Al Shamsi said: “The International Jewellery and Watch Show has been a successful model for exhibitions in the region, playing a major role in promoting Abu Dhabi as a high profile exhibitions destination. It has become a perfect platform for companies to market the latest jewellery and luxury products, catering to different needs and tastes of people across the region.”   

The variety of exhibits on display includes exquisite collections from Rolex, Parmigiani, Tudor, Mercury, Giovanni and Bugatti. The exhibitor list has a range of retail chains, designers, laboratories, publication and service providers.
The total jewellery on display at the show is estimated to be worth more than Dh5 billion. Between two exhibitors alone Dh1 billion worth of jewellery is available for sale, a statement said.   

Apart from exhibitors from the UAE, the event has attracted participation from Hong Kong, Brazil, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.  – TradeArabia News Service
