Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem... Dubai major travel retail hub

International travel retail fair opens in Dubai

DUBAI, November 25, 2014

A total of 36 global companies are showcasing hundreds of trademarks at a leading international trade fair for travel retail, duty free and luxury goods that opened in Dubai, UAE today (November 25).

The three-day Middle East Exclusive (MEE) was inaugurated by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

“Dubai has become one of the prominent travel retail hubs worldwide. The hike in passenger traffic in the first nine months of 2014 to 52.4 million passengers led to flourishing duty free shops in the emirate and thriving trade of luxury products,” said Bin Sulayem.

“Dubai reinforces its foothold as a global and regional hub for trade and businesses by leveraging the travel retail trade and presenting an integrated tourist product for tourists and shoppers,” he added.

“Middle East Exclusive is another addition to the array of global exhibitions hosted in Dubai, making the city the destination of choice for exhibitors from around the world thanks to the highly efficient infrastructure and services put in place for the exhibition industry. Dubai is all in all fully geared up to successfully host Expo 2020, and live up to the trust of the whole international community,” Bin Sulayem concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
