Miele wins big at Red Dot Design Awards

DUBAI, June 8, 2015

Miele, a global manufacturer of premium home and professional appliances, has been named ‘Best of the Best’ in six categories at the annual Red Dot Design Awards 2015, the annual programme that recognises quality in global product design.

Designers and companies from 56 countries entered around 5,000 products across 31 categories with Miele selected as a top-ranked innovator and performer across a diverse range of domestic and commercial products including home-cleaning devices, kitchen white goods and the latest high-end appliances.

All six winning products are available in the UAE where Miele’s reputation for design excellence has seen its appliances grace the kitchens of high profile residential developments, five-star hotel kitchens and commercial premises across the Emirates, a statement said.

“Miele is a brand with over 116 years’ direct consumer experience in the domestic and commercial appliances arena, and has an enviable reputation for excellence in innovation as well as delivery of stylish, high quality and supremely functional product ranges that make everyday household activities a pleasure rather than a chore,” said Rehanna Sharma, marketing director, Miele.

“As recipients of six Red Dot awards for 2015, this adds a further seal of quality for our end users when deciding which high-end brand best suits their needs, and with the jury of 38 world-renowned specialists agreeing that our designs are world-leading when it comes to innovation, functionality, quality, durability and other criteria, this puts Miele top of the list for consumers in the region and worldwide,” she added.

Its five award-winning domestic products include a favourite with coffee lovers, the sleek and ultra-functional CM 6310 machine, which has a One Touch for Two function that allows the simultaneous preparation of two coffee specialities with the touch of a single button.

In the refrigeration category, Miele’s K 30.000 innovation in the form of glare-free lighting with its FlexiLight fridge, scooped the prize.

Other award-winning models were the two-in-one DGM 6800 steam oven with microwave, recognised for its convenience and quality results-driven design, and the KM 6366-1 induction hob, which features six variable PowerFlex rings.

Miele’s innovation in home cleaning earned it another Red Dot for the intelligent navigation, good cleaning results and top-class workmanship of its Scout RX 1 robovac, which features a patented Triple Cleaning System with two side brushes, a beater bar and efficient fan.

Also showcasing - and rewarding - the company’s professional range of appliances, Miele Professional’s PG 85 commercial washer-disinfectors featuring the AutoOpen door releasing system, door salt container to simplify the refilling process, and load-varying benefits, received the Red Dot accolade. – TradeArabia News Service
