Adac showcases Abu Dhabi, Al Ain airports

Abu Dhabi , October 28, 2007

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac) has staged a major international marketing campaign to showcase the globally strategic value of its two airports of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

The campaign started with high profile participation at the 13th World Route Development Forum which ran from September 23-25 in Stockholm.

Peter Hoslin, head of marketing department, who led Adac team to the event, said: “International airlines are definitely considering the value of a share of the Middle East’s aviation boom and we have a lot to offer them. Both our airports are strategically located at the cross roads of major international routes. They serve as the gateway to the UAE capital, which is investing over $200 billion into building a dynamic centre of business and tourism.”

An Adac team has just been in Peking, attending and presenting a paper at the China Aviation Congress, a two-day summit that brings together senior executives of airlines and airports in China.

Adac is also participating in, and one of the sponsors of, the 4th Annual Asia Pacific and Middle East Aviation Outlook Summit, to be held in Singapore during Oct 31- Nov. 1, which will attract top executives of airlines and airports in Asia Pacific, a region that is becoming the largest aviation market in the world.

“Asian markets are growing fast and we are actively marketing to airlines in the whole region. Asia Pacific is heading to become the largest aviation market in the world. This offers an obvious synergy with the globally strategic location of both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain International Airports as convenient links between Asia Pacific and Europe together with the emerging markets of Africa,” said Hoslin.

Back home, Adac is taking part in two events between 29 and 31 October. The Business Travel Show, to be held in Dubai, will showcase the finest business travel products and services from the world's leading travel suppliers. “Both of our airports will be prominently displayed to this important segment of air travel users,” said Hoslin.

At the Global World Class Airports Forum, between October 30 to 31, Adac’s chairman and managing director, Khalifa Al Mazrouei, will update the senior aviation industry executives who will attend the event on the progress of the multi-billion redevelopment programme of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“It is a good opportunity to show the great advantages available for those who choose to travel through Abu Dhabi International Airport, which has been gaining mounting recognition as one of the fastest and most passenger-friendly hubs in the region following extensive service improvements and the introduction of new direct flights over the last year,” said Hoslin.

Adac’s November schedule includes one event at home: the Dubai Air Show (Nov. 11-15); and two overseas: the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Airline Schedules Conference in Toronto, Canada (Nov. 11-13); and the World Travel Market in London (Nov. 12-15). “In Toronto, Adac will discuss with the airlines from around the world the ease of access to its two airports. And in London, the Adac team will explain to the visitors of one of the largest and most important travel trade shows in the world the high level of efficiency that we have at our airports,” Mr. Hoslin added.

The marketing campaign will highlight Abu Dhabi International Airport’s strong growth in passenger and cargo traffic, recognition as an airport of choice, and the massive $6.8 billion programme of development and expansion that will see it transform into a world-class aviation hub to support Abu Dhabi’s ambitions to become a dynamic centre for investment and tourism.

“These events provide us with a timely opportunity to network with the global travel industry and to show why Abu Dhabi and Al Ain International Airports provide good value to the industry, not only as transit airports but also as original destination hu
