Rizon acquires second executive jet

Manama, February 11, 2008

Private aircraft charter firm Rizon Jet has acquired its second executive jet, a six-seat Hawker Beechcraft Premier 1A.

The expanding Bahrain- and Dubai-based firm said that it has invested $175 million in new state-of-the-art business jets, which are front-runners in fuel efficiency.

"We are delighted to have the second aircraft on line at last" said chief executive officer Will Curtis.

"Our service is in such demand that we have recently had to turn customers away. This new aircraft will be a very welcome addition," he added.

Rizon Jet, which started operations last year, has expanded its client base throughout the region.

"Our clients enjoy the flexibility and privacy that executive jet travel brings," said Rizon Jet chief marketing officer Asaad Abiad.

"With our highly-efficient, new-generation aircraft we have made business jet travel affordable for time pressed business executives.

"It is now not only the super rich who can make use of the benefits of private jets, but anyone who values their time and requires a productive environment for travel."

Rizon Jet has plans for the future too. "We have a further six aircraft on order," Curtis revealed. "The new aircraft will have long-range capability so we will be able to offer flights to Europe and the Far East, as well as all points in between," he added.

"We have increasingly been receiving enquiries for the longer-range missions, so we are looking forward to taking delivery of our new fleet as it comes off the production line.

"Our smaller aircraft could fly to London on the same fuel a Boeing 747 uses to taxi out to take off. New generation aircraft make sense both commercially and environmentally."

With business aviation set to grow 11 per cent year on year until 2020 according to industry analysts, it seems that Rizon Jet has timed its entry to the market perfectly, said Curtis.

"Deregulation in the Gulf has seen an increase in the numbers of executive jets available for charter and an increase in the privately-owned fleet," he added. "We also offer a 'full turn-key' aircraft management product," he said.-TradeArabia News Service
