Oman tourism featured by Canadian media

Muscat, January 2, 2010

Canwest Global Communications Corp, a top Canadian media company, recently highlighted Oman as a distinctive tourist destination in one of its news reports.

“Written by Janet Bagnall of Canwest, the report about Musandam is essayed in a very informative and witty narrative,” said Usama bin Karim Al Haremi of Oman Air’s corporate communications and media about the report on Oman titled “Get away from the Gulf’s glamour in Oman”.

“Giving all the information that one would require for a visit to this place, the writer makes it amply clear the extensive research she has done for this report during her visit,” he added.

“The writer brings subtly the niche tourism destination that Oman is developing into and the care and concern exercised by the government in not opening its floodgates of mass tourism unlike its neighbouring countries.”

Al Haremi continued: “The report transmitted by Canwest that operates one of Canada's largest newspaper chains reaching 4.9 million engaged readers on a weekly basis, is a testimony of how popular Oman has become as a most sought after destination for the discerning leisure travellers.”

“Canwest publications are complemented by several online properties under the canada.com network, which averages over 4.5 million unique visitors per month. The editorial services of Canwest provides editorial page layout for more than 170 daily newspapers in the US and Canada,” Al Haremi concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
