E-passports for Filipinos in Bahrain

Manama, December 9, 2010

New biometric passports are being introduced for Filipinos in Bahrain.

The Philippines Embassy yesterday announced it will start accepting applications for e-passports from Sunday.

According to the initiative, all Filipino nationals will have a chip-enabled passport storing the biometric data of the applicant.

Philippines Ambassador to Bahrain Corazon Yap-Bahjin urged all Filipinos to submit e-passport applications at the embassy in Zinj.

All applicants should be physically present and pay a BD25 e-passport fee.

They should also bring their original passport with photocopies of the front and back cover.

Applicants are advised to wear decent attire for the photographs to be taken by the machine during the data capturing process.

E-passports will be issued within 21 days.-TradeArabia News Service
