Oman Air offers more flights to Salalah

Muscat, July 25, 2011

Supporting the Salalah Tourism Festival, Oman Air has added frequencies to the Muscat – Salalah – Muscat route.

The airline now operates up to seven daily flights in this sector. Focusing on the importance of the Governorate of Dhofar and in line with the National Carrier’s dedicated efforts to promote tourism within the sultanate, an additional 32 flights have been introduced in this sector, it said.

Realising the need to put even more flights on this sector, Oman Air is actively implementing an additional flight frequency programme. Oman Air is utilising all aircraft sizes to service this sector currently, and this include the Airbus A330s, Boeing 737s, as well as its latest Embraer 175 regional jets.

The Salalah Tourism Festival opened on July 1 and will run until the end of the month. The festival is a celebration of the history, culture, traditions and landscapes of the Governorate of Dhofar, of which Salalah is the capital, and it coincides with the Khareef, the monsoon season that is unique to this most southerly part of Arabia.

During the period, this sector assumes even greater priority for Oman Air. Thousands of visitors attend this wonderful event to experience the unique attractions of the area.  Oman Air’s special rates stem from the demand of the people of Dhofar and other esteemed passengers of Oman Air.

In July this year, Oman Air announced a special offer of OR51 ($132.46) for the Muscat-Salalah sector. This offer will go on till September end, and tickets will have to be a return ticket with one month validity, purchased from any of the Oman Air offices.

A similar special fare of OR85 was introduced in the Salalah-Dubai sector as well (return ticket valid for one week purchased through any Oman Air office) for the citizens and residents of Oman. - TradeArabia News Service
