Summer thrills for families at Bahrain water park

Manama, July 7, 2012

Hundreds of families yesterday received a special treat as Lost Paradise of Dilmun (LPOD) kicked off its Summer Festival 2012 in style.

A major attraction of the festival, which continues until July 18, will be a Dragon and Lion dance troupe from China.

Legend has it that the dance is a symbol of power, strength and good luck, driving away evil spirits and bringing fortune to the people.

The festival emphasises not only the water park's many attractions but also showcases some of the brightest talents in Bahrain.

Celebrations began with the first LPOD Music Festival, Campus Dance showdown and the Kid's Got Talent Too, bringing together talents who showcased their skills, dance prowess and entertaining acts.

The three-week festival also hosts a dedicated children's activity area with several games, arts and crafts, mascots and magic shows.

The Dragon and Lion dance show is free with an entrance ticket. There will be three shows per day until July 19.

The festivities will also include a weekly ladies night, featuring great DJ music, Zumba sessions, fashion shows and special competitions with airline tickets to be given away.-TradeArabia News Service
