BAC launches new graduate training program

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), has joined hands with Tamkeen to launch its new initiative – ‘Tahleeq’ – a graduate training program aimed at shaping the future leaders of kingdom’s aviation industry.

Tahleeq is a capacity building program for aspiring, high-performing Bahraini graduates.

The managing body and operator of Bahrain airport, BAC has lucnhed the program with the support from Ministry of Transportation (MoT).

The ambitious two-year scheme has been designed to immerse young Bahrainis into the aviation sector while obtaining valuable practical experience as BAC embarks on the Airport Modernization Program.

Ahmed Nemat, the acting undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs at the MoT said: “We are proud of our partnership with Bahrain Airport Company and the efforts exerted to launch this program which will pave the way for nationals to be trained by experts within the aviation field.”

He also added that such training programs should focus on specializations required by the aviation industry in line with the Ministry of Transportation’s directions to attract and develop young and promising Bahraini talents.

CEO Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah said: “As one of Bahrain’s leading employers, BAC is driven by its’ commitment to invest in the local talent. Tahleeq presents an ideal platform for talented graduates motivated by passion and who have a thirst for knowledge to join BAC’s team of professionals and kick-off their careers with this valuable experience”  

Tamkeen’s VP (Human Capital Development) Amal Al-Kooheji highlighted the importance of investing in enhancing the skills and capabilities of Bahraini human capital, as well as employment and career advancement.

"Based on this principle, Tamkeen has developed programmes that aim to develop the human capital of Bahrain, according to market requirements, and provide Bahrainis with opportunities to gain the necessary skills to make them the employees of choice," she added.

According to her, talented and ambitious Bahrainis will be recruited to specialize in the following fields: engineering, airport operations, IT and Facilities Management.

The selected applicants will have to undergo a two-year program, where they will be exposed to the various discipline areas to ensure they gain full insight into the company’s work,. said a statement from BAC.

To enable effective skills transfer, the program will also feature regular coaching sessions with experienced and qualified mentors, it stated.-TradeArabia News Service
