ME travel agencies shifting to 'one package' policy

DOHA, May 9, 2015

Majority of the travel agencies are shifting to the e-travel business through the "one package" policy which offers tourist everything from the application of mobile travel reservations to booking a camping trip in the desert, dinner on a posh yacht, to a tour of historical sites within one application, said an industry expert.

“To meet the growth of tourism in the area, new innovative services and technologies are becoming mainstream, such as mobile apps designed for travelers to quickly book a stay, including flight, hotel, attractions, shopping locations, and recreational activities in the Gulf region,” said Moataz Al-Khayyat, the executive director at Qatar-based UrbaCon Construction and Trading, which also operates the Joury Tours & Travel agency.

“I agree with the findings of the latest tourism Global Trends report released by Euromonitor International that smart technologies reshape regional tourism landscape. For this reason, UrbaCon is very keen to use the latest technology in its tourism services in Qatar and GCC,” stated Al Khayyat.

The company provides the e-travel package through its Joury Tours & Travel agency. The company recently showcased its products at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the region’s largest travel and tourism exhibition, held recently in Dubai.

Joury Tours mainly concentrates on e-travel business as mobile application, online payment gate way and special booking system help in having a smooth operation on their travel segments.-TradeArabia News Service
