Air Berlin to decide on restructuring in few weeks
FRANKFURT, September 29, 2015
Air Berlin's board of directors will decide on a new restructuring programme for the German airline in the coming weeks, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.
Germany's second-largest airline, 29 per cent owned by Abu Dhabi-based Etihad, has made operating losses in four of the last five years. It is reviewing routes and its fleet of 140 planes as part of efforts to return to profit in 2016.
Meanwhile, Air Berlin said the executive committee of its board of directors was meeting with senior management on Tuesday to review progress on its 2018 business plan.
"The plan, which is well underway, will be presented to the full Board of Directors for approval shortly," Air Berlin said in a statement. – Reuters
