Dubai hotel occupancy levels up 3.4pc in August

LONDON, September 14, 2016

Dubai's hospitality sector witnessed occupancy levels jump 3.4 per cent to 76.1 per cent in August.

According to August data released by STR, the UAE emirate reported increases in supply (over 5.5 per cent) and demand (over 9.2 per cent) as well. However, average daily rate (ADR) dropped 10.2 per cent to Dh515.2 ($140.2) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) also dipped 7.1 per cent to Dh392.03 ($106.7).

According to July figures from Visit Dubai, the market has seen year-to-date increases in visitors from each of its top four source markets: India (over 9 per cent), Saudi Arabia (over 5 per cent), Oman (over 22 per cent) and the UK (over 4 per cent).

STR analysts note that ADR has continued to decrease in the market as supply growth remains robust. - TradeArabia News Service
