Saudia signs up AHS to handle Jordan airport operations

AMMAN, November 5, 2016

National carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines has signed up Aviation Handling Services (AHS) to provide the airline with comprehensive ground handling services for all flights arriving at and departing from Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA).

AHS is a strategic partner of international ground handling services company, Menzies Aviation.

The agreement was publicized during a reception hosted by AHS-Menzies on Tuesday 1 November, 2016, in the QAIA terminal, attended by the Saudi Arabian Airlines management team, airport officials, and several influential figures from the private and public sectors.

The agreement reached between both companies included the absorption of Saudi Arabian Airlines’ ground handling staff within AHS-Menzies, which has been operating as an official ground handling entity at QAIA since 2008.

Moreover, AHS-Menzies will provide Saudi Arabian Airlines with a wide range of ground handling services, including receiving aircraft and organizing their movement, cargo handling, as well as various technical support services.

This agreement corresponds with AHS-Menzies’ efforts to expand its business globally and regionally, as it currently works with 20 carriers and airlines that amount to an average of 155 flights per week at QAIA.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ferdinando Trella, the general manager of AHS-Menzies, said: "We are extremely proud of our partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines, which, as one of the largest carriers at QAIA, operates 26 weekly flights from the airport."

"We are confident that this agreement will be mutually beneficial and will allow both parties to achieve their desired results. This agreement will further cement our position as a leader in the field of ground handling services in many countries across the world," he added.

In turn, Muneef Al Math'our, the station manager of Saudi Arabian Airlines Station in Amman, said: "After an extensive study, it was evident to the Saudi Arabian Airlines management that AHS-Menzies offers top-quality ground handling services at QAIA and the other international airports in which it operates, in line with the level of services we provide our passengers."

"Consequently, AHS-Menzies was chosen as Saudi Arabian Airlines’ Ground Handling Agent in Jordan," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
