(L-R) Nijhawan and Kapoor take up new roles at Le Méridien Dubai

Le Méridien Dubai Hotel expands events team

DUBAI, January 31, 2017

Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre has welcomed Ileshaa Nijhawan and Ekta Kapoor as its groups and events sales managers.

A Business Management graduate from the University Of Warwick UK, Nijhawan joined the hotel as events sales executive in 2012 and brings to her new role years of hands-on experience in the events and banquet business. Post her stint in events sales, she was promoted to assistant groups and events sales manager at Le Meridien Dubai in 2015. Her quick understanding of the business and client requirements led to her to quick rise within the ranks.

"My education and early working years in the UK as well as Sri Lanka and then Dubai, has given me a rich global perspective. Over the last four years, I have been part of Dubai's dynamic and rapidly increasing meeting and conference industry. I am honoured to have been promoted to groups and events sales manager and look forward to an exciting journey ahead," Nijhawan said.

A post-graduate in Business Management, Kapoor comes with eight years of banquet sales and event management experience. She started her hospitality career in 2009 in Mumbai, India with the InterContinental Hotels Group followed by The Leela Palaces & Resorts. Her most recent position was at JW Marriott in Mumbai before she came onboard with the groups and events team at Le Meridien Dubai in 2016. "Being in the Middle East at a time when the Mice industry is at a growth phase, is extremely interesting and dynamic. I am thrilled to work with a hotel that is growing along with Dubai's vision to become a leading conference destination." said Kapoor.

Le Méridien Dubai is home to cutting-edge conference and banquet facilities featuring 5,500 sq-m of event facilities encompassing 24 rooms; the highlight being the 2,500 sq-m Great Ballroom with its unique concept of show kitchen, accommodating more than 1,500 guests. Featuring incredibly high-tech facilities with theatrical lighting, LED lighting systems and screens and built-in electronic displays, this is one of the newest and largest meeting and conferencing space in Dubai. The hotel also offers the more intimate Falcon Ballroom and Wasl Ballrooms for smaller or more private requirements. Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre has recently introduced an addition of Le Royal Club, a dedicated wing of 196 executive rooms, offering state of the art technology and luxury comforts. - TradeArabia News Service
