Hilton’s Curio Collection signs new hotel in Dubai

DUBAI, April 26, 2017

Hilton has signed a management agreement with Khamas Group of Investments and Bethahab Group to open a hotel under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand in Dubai.

The 252-room hotel will be located in Business Bay, a fast growing district in the Emirate.

Curio Collection by Hilton offer one-of-a-kind discoveries without redefining the independent spirit of a property. With its Arabesque design concept borrowing influences from the region’s rich heritage, the hotel will have its own unique character and personality, appealing to curious travelers seeking authentic Middle Eastern experiences.

“Curio Collection allows owners to develop unique concepts for upper upscale hotels and plug them into our Hilton system.” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East and North Africa, Hilton. “Business Bay is home to a number of developments designed to increase Dubai’s ability to provide stand out experiential attractions as part of Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020. So we see the location as ideally suited to working with an owner who is committed to designing and developing an equally distinctive hospitality experience.”

The hotel will be located on the Dubai Water Canal, a 3.2 km waterway that winds through the city and connects to the Arabian Gulf.  It will be near a 12 km circular waterfront promenade which will include 16 parks, five marinas, ‘floating’ retail and dining outlets on the water and a yacht club when complete. The property will also offer easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road and major attractions such as the Dubai Opera, the Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountains and the Burj Khalifa.

Bader Mohamed Yousuf Bukhamas, owner of Khamas Group of Investments, and Juma Obaid Mohammad Alsayegh Ahli, chairman of Bethahab Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with Hilton to open a Curio property in Dubai’s Business Bay. Once open in the thriving Business Bay area, the property will offer guests the spirit of an independent hotel with unique architecture and interior design, while offering the services and consistency of Hilton.”

The upper upscale hotel will feature four dining outlets including a lobby lounge, an outdoor lounge offering shisha and an all-day dining restaurant with stunning views of downtown Dubai, business bay and the Dubai canal. All guests will have access to spa, salon and fitness facilities along with an outdoor pool. The hotel will also offer a business centre, five meeting rooms and two boardrooms.

“Business Bay offers a picturesque waterfront promenade with floating retail outlets, making it an ideal area for travelers seeking authentic experiences”, said Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton. “This Business Bay hotel, with its prime location and distinctive design, will be a perfect fit for the Curio Collection  and a great addition to our growing portfolio of Curio properties in the Middle East.”

This latest property adds to the Curio brand’s growing portfolio in the Middle East which will see The Rosemont Hotel & Residences, Curio Collection by Hilton open in Dubai in 2018.  The region’s debut property, AlRayyan Hotel Doha, Curio Collection by Hilton opened in Qatar in 2016.
