Leading Chinese firms are set to start work on a 130-km road linking Abha in Saudi Arabia’s Aseer province with Jazan, in a project valued at SAR19 billion ($5 billion), said a top Saudi official. The project scope includes construction of 26 bridges and tunnels as well as key infrastructure for multimodal transport systems.
Jazan Region in Saudi Arabia saw major tourism growth from 2020 to early 2026, with accommodation facilities increasing from 32 to 323, driven by rising investment, expanded infrastructure, and growing demand from visitors.

Southern Province Cement has announced that steady progress is being made on its new cement plant in the Saudi city of Jazan with work on most phases of the clinker production line already completed. The commercial operations are set to begin later this year.
