The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has announced the awarding of six development sites under the Developed Districts Program, covering a total area of more than 2.7 million sq m, representing investments worth SAR13.3 billion ($3.54 billion).
The Saudi city of Makkah is moving closer to a major transformation of its transport network, with plans for a new airport and metro system advancing as part of a major infrastructure upgrade, said a report. Feasibility studies and preliminary designs for the metro have already been completed.
