Trial operations on the first railway linking Oman and the UAE are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, marking a major milestone in the development of a cross-border rail corridor designed to strengthen passenger travel, trade and logistics between the two countries.
Hafeet Rail, a joint venture between Etihad Rail, Oman Rail and Mubadala, has announced steady progress on its ambitious Oman-UAE railway project with the work nearing 40% completion. Progress continues at scale, with over 27 million cu m earthworks and 100,000 cu m concrete works already completed.
Noatum Logistics, an AD Ports Group company, has signed a preliminary agreement with Hafeet Rail, developer and operator of the first cross-border railway network connecting Oman and the UAE, to establish a new rail service between Sohar in Oman and Abu Dhabi in the UAE.
