New Dubai Bone and Joint Centre opens

The new Dubai Bone and Joint Centre (DBAJ), which is the leading center for musculoskeletal treatment and research in the Middle East, was opened at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) by Qadi S Al Murooshid, director general, Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

Al Murooshid expected DBAJ to raise the bar of the services offered to patients in the UAE, as well as the rest of the region, with advanced treatment that is comparable to Western standards.

“We aim to offer Musculoskeletal patients in the Middle East superior treatments and the latest evidence-based and innovative medicine as well as surgical procedures comparable to international healthcare standards,' stated Suzanne Al Houby, vice president, DBAJ.

'This is part of our commitment to the best healthcare practice and the government's efforts to develop Dubai into a 'Center of Medical Excellence' for the region,' she added.

Boasting world-class specialists and medical equipment, DBAJ offers treatment for various conditions ranging from children and adult spinal conditions, pelvic and acetabular fractures, reconstructive surgery, and rheumatology.

It also offers total joint arthroplasty, revision total joint arthroplasty, limb lengthening and limb deformity correction, infective non-union surgery, foot deformities, neuromuscular disorders, sports medicine and ancillary services.

Al Houby also announced that DBAJ is collaborating on a research project with the Amsterdam Medical Center and the establishment of the first Dubai / Holland Biotechnology Research company to help generate new insights on local gene therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis: Arthrogen.

“This and our commitment to play a fundamental role in patient support and education is also revealed through founding the Emirates Arthritis Foundation,” she concluded.-TradeArabia News Service
