Tripp Lite hosts seminar in Doha

Doha, October 17, 2011

Tripp Lite, a leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, recently hosted a special seminar aimed at helping IT managers effectively manage their infrastructure and power requirements.

The event was held at the W Hotel in Doha, with the help of the company’s partner, Jaidah Industrial Supply.

Recent industrial reports have pointed out that the selection of Qatar as the host for the 2022 Fifa World Cup games has resulted in a major boom in the country’s construction industry, with an amount of more than $100 billion expected to be spent on major infrastructure projects to accommodate the large influx of visitors for one of the world’s most watched international sporting events, the company said.

Managing power and IT infrastructure requirements to support this growth are among the major challenges that will be faced by businesses in Qatar, the statement said.

In light of these developments, Vipin Sharma, vice president, MEACIS sales, Tripp Lite, led the discussion on the current influx of projects in the country’s construction industry and the accompanying power requirements presented by these projects.

Tripp Lite shared the key benefits and advantages of its Solution Integration Service, which will allow users to maximise the availability of power and electric systems with reliable, flexible and affordable infrastructure solutions from a single trusted source, it said.

The new service helps customers maximise the full potential of their data center infrastructure and enables them to meet their uptime goals affordably. The company’s integrated solutions cover all key components necessary to ensure the efficiency and continuity of critical processes, which includes UPS systems, rack and cooling solutions, cabling and connectivity products, as well as KVM, PDU and console servers, and network management software.

Tripp Lite, with the help of its critical application partners (CAPs), can also provide expert technical advice and guidance on IT infrastructure expansion, through detailed project requirements, BOMs, specifications, installation considerations and ongoing support options for each custom solution, including preventative maintenance, extended warranties, on-site services and rapid repair and replacement.

“Tripp Lite is upbeat that Qatar’s move to host the 2022 Fifa World Cup will ultimately bring in a lot of major construction and infrastructure projects. The country must now look towards developing key infrastructure to accommodate the expected high number of people who will be attending the event,” Sharma said.

“However, along with the growing number of projects also comes the increased need for more power. Tripp Lite foresees this demand for more power requirements and can help address the issue by leveraging its wide range of power protection and connectivity equipment across the construction segment,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
