Drydocks World wins top maritime awards
DUBAI, November 10, 2014
Drydocks World, an international service provider to the maritime, oil, gas and energy sectors, has won the ‘Shipyard/Ship Repair Facility of the Year’ award at the Maritime Standard Awards.
It also won the Technology/Innovation Awards for the Modular Capture Vessels (MCV) project at the event that was held in Dubai recently.
The awards sought out best-in-class organisations, projects, employee safety milestones, goals and safety awareness in the workplace.
The organisations that are committed to making safety a significant part of their business strategy and use innovative ideas to encourage and engage staff in workplace safety were recognised.
Receiving the Award, Drydocks chairman Khamis Juma Buamim said: “We are grateful to the Maritime Standard Awards for the recognition. The Shipyard/Ship Repair Facility of the Year Award considered the yard’s capability throughout challenging market conditions and the ability to grow, improve and expand in the region.
The Facility of the Year award has recognised innovation and creativity in maritime manufacturing facilities serving the maritime industry.
The global players selected for these prestigious awards set the standard for maritime facilities by demonstrating excellence in project execution, equipment innovation, facility integration, process innovation, sustainability and operational excellence.
The Technology /Innovation Award given to Drydocks World recognised innovative projects such as the two MCV’s (Modular Capture Vessels), Eagle Texas and Eagle Louisiana. - TradeArabia News Service
