Mammoet to provide mega bridge solution for Louisiana gas project

LONDON, December 24, 2022

Mammoet, a global market leader in heavy lifting and transport, has announced that it has been awarded the contract to provide an adjustable super bridge as levee crossing for the transport of modules for Plaquemines LNG project in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.

When fully developed, the Plaquemines LNG facility will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year.

A major global player, Mammoet has broad expertise as an industry leader in safely delivering services to LNG projects and modernizations not only in the USA, but also worldwide in various countries including Qatar and Canada.

Under this agreement, its scope of work includes testing and construction of the bridge and its components.

During the first half of 2022, Mammoet, working with Weeks Massman Joint Venture, had successfully completed the foundation of the super bridge, including the driving of the piles and installation of the pile caps. Further, other components are currently undergoing testing.

Robert Roest, the Commercial Manager for Special Projects at Mammoet (US South) said: "We are very excited for this next, major step in continuing relationship between Venture Global and Mammoet."

The sentiment is echoed by Mammoet Sales Manager Mike Cook, who said: “Extensive experience and engineering led to the design of the mega bridge. It is capable of achieving never before accomplished weight capacities."

Mammoet, he stated, helps clients with smarter, safer and stronger solutions to any heavy lifting or transport challenge.

"We aim to develop long term relationships in order to understand their businesses and challenges best, so we can realize the most efficient and cost-effective approaches. We have a unique global network and an unparalleled fleet of equipment," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
