Bahraini firm CTM360 gets First membership

MANAMA, April 18, 2018

CTM360, a leading cybersecurity firm in Bahrain, has been accepted as a full member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), an international association of computer security incident response teams.

First remains a leading global network for cyber incident response and is a recognised platform for security teams. Currently consisting of 414 teams worldwide, this network enables security teams to closely coordinate and track evolving threats from a consolidated platform.

CTM360 is the first private company from Bahrain and across the Middle East to be accepted as a FIRST member, said a statement from the company.

CEO Mirza Asrar Baig said: "The membership is a remarkable achievement in a short span of time. We continue to push as a high-achiever in the cyber security space. We expect First to add a new dimension to our capabilities and in turn, are eager to contribute to this global platform."

“As the very first entity from Bahrain to be included in this network is an honour for us, and we seek to make the kingdom a shining beacon for cyber security and technology innovation on an international level,” stated Mirza.

CTM360 was gauged across multiple competencies in its security practice and granted membership after careful review, said a statement.

The membership qualification process relies on nominations from two existing members of FIRST sponsors, followed by a detailed audit process and approval by the FIRST Steering Committee, it said.

“As cybersecurity has become a global issue, the need for agility, innovation and determination in security has grown tremendously. Constant vigilance and secure practices in the cloud will help secure organisations and individuals. Going forward, it will remain crucial for security teams across the Middle East to focus on these aspects to achieve true cyber resilience,” he added.

First brings together a variety of computer security incident response teams from government community emergency response team (CERTs), private computer incident response teams (CIRTs), commercial institutions and educational organisations.

The network aims to foster cooperation and coordination in incident prevention, to promote information sharing among members and to enable sharing of relevant threat intelligence, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
