Over 200 firms set for Milipol expo

Over 200 companies from 33 countries, including seven debutants, will showcase their  products at the 'Milipol Qatar 2010,' the international exhibition of the internal state security, which opens in Doha on Monday.

The three-day event is being held under the auspices of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the heir apparent, said Brigadier Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, the president of Milipol Qatar Committee.

Speaking at press conference on Saturday, Brigadier Nasser said all arrangements have been made for successful conduct of the eighth edition of the security expo which is held in Qatar every two years.
'On this occasion, we would like to affirm you that all arrangements and preparations for Milipol Qatar 2010 has been completed as per the plan set by the Milipol Qatar Committee from 2008 end till the date of exhibition,' he remarked.

'The committee has participated in several international security exhibitions with the aim of marketing Milipol Qatar and attracting a great number of international companies to participate in the exhibition,' Brigadier Nasser added.

On the final tally, Brigadier Nasser said 220 companies from 33 countries will take part in the expo. The total area occupied for the exhibition is 7135 sq m where seven pavilions have been set up, he added.

The Qatari Pavilion will have 12 companies), French (45 companies), the US (15 companies), German (10 companies), Singaporean (3 companies) with two new pavilions of Chinese (9 companies) and Czech (7 companies)', he explained.

Finland, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, Kazakhstan, Japan and Tunisia are taking part for the first time, he said.

On the local participation, Brigadier Nasser said that the Qatar Ministry of Interior will put up a strong show with a 1200 sq m pavilion and Internal Security Force (Lakhwiya) with a pavilion of 1496 sq m.

'There will be six main departments in the Ministry's pavilion - Information Systems Department, PR, Coasts and Borders' Security Department, Criminal Evidences and Information Department and Traffic Department in addition to Al-Adeid program and Leaders Training Centre under the Police Training Institute.'

Milipol Exhibitions general manager Michael Weatherseed, said, 'The huge visitor turnout and the volume of exhibition show that the Milipol Qatar is in constant progress and we are happy to continue our partnership with Milipol Qatar exhibition committee. We also hope that the coming sessions will show more growth.'

Brigadier Nasser and Weatherseed later launched a permanent website for Milipol in the presence of Qatar Member of the Milipol Qatar Committee Lt. Col. Abdulla Khalifa Al-Muftah, the head of the Media Centre First Lt. Mubarak Salim Al-Buainain and other officials.

The ninth session of Milipol Qatar will be held from November 26 to 28, 2012.-TradeArabia News Service
