Ahli United Bank (AUB) and Bahrain's Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) have signed an agreement to open an AUB office at the LMRA’s Sanabis headquarters.
LMRA chief executive officer Ali Ahmed Radhi and AUB senior deputy group CEO Michael Collis signed the deal.
The new office will be responsible for the collection of all service fees paid to the LMRA at its Sanabis headquarters.
Meanwhile, the LMRA yesterday started collecting fees from employers and individuals for its services.
Established in May 2006, the LMRA is mandated with regulating the labour market in Bahrain.
As part of a strategic reform programme launched by Bahrain’s Economic Development Board, the LMRA is the country’s central body for all labour reform initiatives.
It is tasked with the processing of all applications and collecting all fees relating to work permits and licences; issuing visas, residence permits and ID cards to enter the Kingdom.
It will also undertake labour market research and design policies that work towards restructuring the labour market. -TradeArabia News Service
