Emcor starts Bahrain operations
Manama

Emcor Facilities Services (Bahrain) has announced the launch of its operations in Bahrain Company and also unveiled plans to provide integrated services to $3 billion Bahrain Financial Harbour development.

Emcor Facilities Services (Bahrain) is a joint venture between Bahrain Financial Harbour Holding Company (BFHHC), Financial Centre Development Company (FCDC) and Emcor Facilities Services Group (EFSG), set up for the delivery of integrated facilities services and property management solutions.

Emcor aims to provide comprehensive services to $3 billion Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) development, which will include the delivery of a complete range of estate management and customer support services comprising operations and maintenance, asset and property management and integrated system solutions.

The company recently held its inaugural board meeting in the Kingdom and appointed Dr Omer O. El Mardi, managing director of BFHHC and FCDC, as the board chairman.

Christian Roberts, chief executive officer, EFSG; Nawaf Rashid Sadeddin, chief development officer, BFHHC; and Martin Green, group finance director, EFSG, were named board members.

With its management team and resources firmly in place to commence its operations within BFH’s Financial Centre, Emcor is gearing up to offer its operations to other high profile projects across the country.

Commenting on the launch, Dr El Mardi said as per industry experts the facilities management market in the Arabian Gulf will be worth an estimated $892 billion over the next 25 years.

"The current construction boom across the Gulf is building a huge demand for facilities management in order to provide expert advice in the planning stages of a building and help property developers maximise profits over a building's lifecycle," he noted.

"Against such a backdrop, we believe that an entity like Emcor will not only play an instrumental role in the Financial Centre but also several developments in Bahrain in the long run. We are upbeat that with the support and the confidence displayed by the stakeholders, Emcor Bahrain will record an impressive start," he added.

Emcor Facilities Services Bahrain will be first working on the 125,000 sq m area within BFH, which accommodates the impressive ‘Harbour Towers’, a project that offers high quality prime office space for the local, regional and international financial services industry, and the ‘Harbour Mall’, which houses exclusive retail outlets, cafes and other leisure facilities, the Bahrain Stock Exchange, and brokerage and trading firms.

At present, Emcor Facilities Services (Bahrain) has commenced the initial stages of operations for BFH, which involves the implementation of EMCOR Facilities Services’ integrated management system, service procurement strategy, asset management system, and a 24/7 call centre for all current and future tenants within the development.

Christian Roberts said, "EFSG considers Bahrain as a key market for us, and our newly-established presence in this booming economy is definitely a major success, which is also part of our regional growth strategy."

"Working with such a prestigious development company and for a landmark development such as the BFH as our initial project in the Kingdom is a testament to the calibre of the services we can offer to the Bahraini market."

"Amidst the rapid rise of Bahrain’s economic and industrial sectors, it is our commitment to incorporate our internationally-renowned standards, systems and processes, and utilise the expertise of our people to provide truly integrated and best practice service solutions to BFH and to other potential clients in Bahrain, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
