Sharaf wins Dubai Maritime City contract
Dubai

Sharaf Foundations, a leading ground engineering company in the region, has won a contract for enabling and piling works on The Creek Towers and Plaza at Dubai Maritime City, the world’s first purpose-built maritime city.

Under the contract, the company’s work on the project has been divided into five major areas - shoring, piling, pile load testing, excavation and dewatering, over a total area of 69,371 sqm. The project is expected to be completed in third quarter of 2009.

Sharaf Foundations has an impressive track record in handling high-profile projects all over the region, said a company official.

In addition, two concrete batching plants will be set up each capable of delivering over 120 cubic metres of concrete per hour -  achieving the daily production target of 3,000 cubic metres.

The company will also strive to achieve Gold certificate for environmental compliance in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating.

The new project within Dubai Maritime City,  a member of the Dubai World Group of companies which is destined to be a global centre for excellence in the maritime field, only shows the confidence and trust Sharaf Foundations has gained as a high-performing ground engineering firm, Yousuf H. Sharaf, managing director of Sharaf Group.

'We have mobilised a team of highly experienced engineering and technical professionals to ensure that the desired results are met for this groundbreaking project,' he noted.

Through its partnership with Dubai Maritime City, Sharaf Foundations has boosted its reputation as a highly preferred, world-class, ground engineering company.

The project under the contract is likewise one of the most prominent developments within the integrated maritime centre, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
