BinHendi starts waste management programme
Dubai

BinHendi Enterprises, one of the most progressive and diverse business conglomerates in the UAE, is taking a more active role in reducing waste production in the city.

Currently, the Emirate is the highest waste producer in the world, generating 1,400-kg of waste per capita, triple the international average quantity.

Implementing a waste management programme within all offices is part of BinHendi’s drive towards becoming a better corporate citizen and falls within its corporate social responsibility strategy.

“We have actively supported various community service initiatives as a way of giving something back to the community which has in turn been instrumental in the success of BinHendi over the years. This year, we are focusing some of our efforts onto environment-related initiatives and we are delighted to announce that we will be implementing a recycling program in the company,” said CEO of BinHendi Enterprises Amna BinHendi.

Tadweer is the first company in the UAE and the Middle East to offer a comprehensive range of waste management solution applications with a state of the art in house solid waste sorting and recycling facility.

“We have been working with a number of companies and organizations from both the public and private sectors and are excited to have BinHendi Enterprises on board. This only means that more and more people in the UAE are becoming aware of the environmental issues and on the true effect it has on all of us,” said EnviroCare manager, Tadweer. Lina Chaaban.

Among the preliminary steps undertaken by BinHendi is a massive internal information campaign that will inform and educate employees about the importance of the programme, and how to separate waste from their respective departments or divisions.

“This is just the first step. We hope to do more for the environment to help preserve this important heritage for future generations,” added BinHendi. – TradeArabia News Service
