Over 400 hotel staff pledged to support Crowne Plaza Dubai’s commitment to building a greener future and contribute to the UAE’s continued efforts to go green.
The hotel recently held an environmental awareness day where the employees were encouraged to present artwork and practices to inspire and increase the usage of the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
From jewellery made of magazine strips, trees built from recycled collateral, and eco-friendly garbage bags; over 87 individual and departmental contributions were displayed, said a statement from Crowne Plaza.
Furthermore a competition was held to vote for the best stand, artwork and innovative idea with which to build a greener future.
The staff also taook part in a question-answer session, wherein questions regarding human impact on the environment, revealing statistics regarding local pollution and creating an awareness of how individual contributions can aid in going green were posed.
This campaign is the first in a series of future operations, which will continue to revolve around the emphasis of creating an eco-friendly “great hotels guests love”— marking only the first of many steps the Crowne Plaza Dubai intends to make on its path to building a greener future, the statement added.-TradeArabia News Service
