Ibn Battuta Mall to host Chinese art show
Dubai

Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai will host an exhibition of contemporary Chinese artworks this August, as part of its DSS line-up.

The show will feature some of the leading artists from China including Bai Jaifu and master calligrapher Lin Mei Dong.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Gao Youzhen, consul general of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai and will be open to the public at the mall’s China Court from August 1 to 16.

“Thanks to the Olympics, all eyes are on China right now and at this juncture we wanted to highlight its rich cultural and artistic history as much as it’s rising economic and political stature,” stated Marc Jones, marketing manager, Ibn Battuta Mall.

The two-week-long exhibition will feature collections by eight artists per week. All the works exhibited will be on sale, with the artists on site to take potential buyers through the various themes and the histories of the paintings and collections.

Besides the main exhibition, Ibn Battuta Mall has also organised a line-up of side-events, including live demonstrations of speed painting and calligraphy targeting adults and children.- TradeArabia News Service
