Bahrain firm launches high-speed broadband
Manama

Lightspeed Communications, a subsidiary of Orange Jordan, part of the France Telecom Group, has introduced faster ADSL broadband packages in Bahrain.

The packages are available in four, eight and 10Mbps speeds.

Lightspeed is among the first Internet service providers (ISP) to offer consumers faster broadband services of up to 10 Mbps speed.

All the existing Lightspeed customers will be upgraded to faster Internet speeds without additional expenses.

"Lightspeed has always been at the forefront of introducing new technologies and products in the market," said chief executive Thierry Milard.

"We have the competency and expertise to offer groundbreaking products. The launch of faster broadband packages underlines our commitment to offer the latest to our customers which will enable them to have a speedier internet experience like never before."

Milard praised the role played by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Bahrain to ensure fair practices in the market.

"I appreciate the role of TRA in organising things and making sure that the market is regulated properly and each ISP has a fair chance of competing each other in a healthy manner. I believe that equal opportunity for all players will result in the development of the market and more innovations that benefit customers."

In addition to offering faster speeds, Lightspeed has also made the new ADSL packages affordable to customers by cutting prices.

"Our residential packages are unmatched when it comes to benefits," said marketing director Waseem Jabasini.

"We offer 10 hours of free landline calls and two hours of free mobile calls with our packages on a monthly basis regardless of their speed,” he added.

“As for the office packages, they are, and will, remain the most economic connectivity in Bahrain offering unparalleled benefits.”

"Our business customers also enjoy unlimited downloads, free unlimited local landline calls and four hours of free mobile calls per month along with many value added features,” Jabasini continued.

“We are confident that with cutting edge technology and innovative packages we can achieve our aim to become the ISP of choice in Bahrain." – TradeArabia News Service
