Crown Prince hails Bahrain-US ties
Manama

Bahrain's Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Friday hailed the strong bilateral ties bonding Bahrain and the US.

This came as he held talks with former president Bill Clinton in New York, said a report published by our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.

Shaikh Salman, who is currently visiting the US, also hailed the Clintons' global initiatives in energy, environment and humanitarian issues.

Present at the meeting were EDB chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador to the US Huda Nonoo, Crown Prince's personal secretary Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and Mumtalakat chief executive Talal Al Zain.

Separately, the Crown Prince held talks with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg at his office in City Hall.

They reviewed the existing ties between the two countries. They also discussed the possibilities of further co-operation in economic, commerce and investment sectors.

Bloomberg welcomed Shaikh Salman's visit to New York. He underlined the facilities and assistance provided by the financial establishment in Bahrain to help further develop this sector.

He also lauded the efforts exerted by the Crown Prince in reinforcing relations between the two countries.-TradeArabia News Service
