  Barwa's earnings surge 154 per cent

  Barwa Real Estate, a leading developer in Qatar, has posted a net profit increase of 154 per cent in 2009, buoyed by an increase in rent revenues, revaluation of properties and the acquisition of an investment firm, it said on Monday.     
   
  Shuaa's Saudi unit buys land for $130m hotel
Riyadh : 
  Shuua Capital Saudi Arabia said its hospitality fund has bought land in Jeddah for a hotel development worth more than $130 million, in a deal that marked the first ever land acquisition by a hospitality fund in the kingdom.
