The competitiveness and cost-savings that can be achieved by making sustainability a business priority for aviation and logistics companies will be on the agenda of high profile speakers at an upcoming environmental conference in Dubai.
The second edition of annual Green Aviation and Logistics Conference (GALC 2012) will be held on February 22 and 23 at Dusit Thani Hotel.
The conference is being organised by Green Aviation and Logistics Group Middle East (GALG ME), an international collaborative network of supply chain/ aviation specialists and consultants, in association with Arabian Reach and Media Sultan – the progressive UAE-based publishing and event organising company.
The conference will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and presentations will be made by high profile ‘green’ experts.
GALC 2012 will highlight how environmental sustainability has become a critical strategic planning issue as international trade and supply chains become more global.
“This conference is one of the GALG’s strategic tools designed to provide a platform towards raising awareness on the importance of ‘sustainability’ which is the main focus of the group,” said Dr Khaled Al Mazroui, chairman of GALG ME.
“Through this conference we seek to engage as many companies as possible from aviation and logistics industry to show them how to turn rising fuel and energy costs, and increasingly stringent rules and regulations into opportunities to reduce their bottom line, and gain a competitive advantage over those who are not as well prepared.”
“With the emergence of EU targets around CO2 emission reductions, all transport sectors will have to ensure compliance if they are to stay competitive. It's a great time to learn more about sustainability,” he added.
The participants will be managers and executives from airports, commercial vehicle manufacturers, logistics companies, airlines, green building construction companies, waste-management firms, Free Zone, MRO companies, law enforcement agencies, commercial vehicle manufacturers, fuel providers, and researchers. – TradeArabia News Service
