Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed city ..... to ensure stability and
social security for the UAE families.

UAE to start work on $381m residential city

ABU DHABI, October 15, 2014

The UAE government will start work on the Dh1.4-billion ($381 million) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed residential city in Fujairah, UAE, as part of its drive to ensure better living conditions and the welfare of citizens, said a report.

The UAE President's Initiatives Committee endorsed the launch of the mammoth project, reported the Emirati news agency WAM.

To be built on an area of 2.2 sq km, the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed residential city will boast 1,100 residential units besides schools, mosques, clinics, parks, shopping malls, and a community centre.

The move comes following the directives of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, the Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, the committee instructed the authorities to start preparing the designs to construct the city.

The new residential city project would help achieve stability and social security for the UAE families, he added.
