Gemini Property Developers, an India-based company, said it has started work on its luxury apartment project in Dubai, UAE, the first of a series of the group's high-end residential projects in the GCC region.

Gemini Splendor, which will feature a total of 134 units of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, penthouses and townhouses equipped with hi-tech amenities, joins a growing list of luxury residential buildings to be announced in Dubai in recent times.

Located in the Hartland community in Dubai's Mohammed Bin Rashid (MBR) City, the iconic project with a built-up area of over 320,000 sq ft is expected to be completed in early 2018.

Following its ground-breaking earlier this month, the construction work has been initiated at the site by the developers, said the company in a statement.

The apartment units at Gemini Splendor range from 780 sq ft to a spacious 3,400 sq ft. In addition, the building will also host comprehensive retail, shopping and entertainment facilities, along with green spaces.

Speaking at the launch, Sudhakar R Rao, the managing director of Gemini Property Developers, said: "This milestone project marks an important phase of our entry into the Dubai real estate industry and reinforces our commitment to deliver key projects in one of the most sought-after Middle Eastern markets."

Gemini Property Developers is the real estate arm of Gemini Energy Group, one of the well-known business groups in the Middle East and India.

The company has awarded the enabling works contract to National Piling and will be announcing the main construction contract soon.

"We have already registered ourselves as developers with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) and have opened an escrow account as per the Trust Account Law," stated Rao.

The project has been designed by Aedas, one of the world's leading global architecture and design practices, renowned for its Dubai Metro stations work.

Yebin Sreenivasan, the associate director, Aedas Middle East, said it was delighted to be part of the debut project of Gemini Property Developers in the UAE.

"Gemini Splendor will be a quality addition to the residential portfolio of Dubai, with its unique architectural and spatial design and a choice palette of tasteful finishes," remarked Sreenivasan.

The detailed design for the project has been executed by Dubai Consultants, a 40-year-old design group based in Dubai.-TradeArabia News Service
