Oman completes key phase of Bidbid-Sur road project

MUSCAT, December 15, 2016

Oman's Ministry of Transport and Communications has opened a major part of the first phase of the 115-km Bidbid-Sur road project following its completion, said a report.

With the opening of the 4-km-long road, which connects Al Multaqa and Al Farfarah bridges, the total length of the road opened for traffic is 81 km, according to Muscat Daily.

The first phase begins at Bidbid intersection near Burj Al Sahwa/Nizwa road, passing through Samail, Mudhaibi, Dima Wa al Taeen till the Masroon intersection in Ibra.

Also, the ministry opened the recently completed Mahdah-Rowdha dual carriageway road project. The project, which spans over 60 km in the Governorate of Buraimi, witnessed the construction of four flyovers.

Of these, two have been built on the Mahdah-Rowdha main road, stated the report.

The project starts from the Madal area in Mahdah and ends in Rowdha. It includes two 7.5-m-wide asphalt lanes, 3-m-wide external asphalt shoulder and 1.5-m internal asphalt shoulder, it added.
