KEO wins Dubai Maritime City consultancy contract

DUBAI, October 15, 2017

KEO International Consultants, a leading design, engineering and project management firm, said it has won a contract to provide master planning and infrastructure consultancy services for the Dubai Maritime City (DMC), a mixed-use development located in Dubai.

The project, which will come up on a 2.27 million sq m area, will boast of two developments - Commercial and an Industrial District.

The Commercial District is a mixed use area and will feature retail, residential, office towers and a promenade, while the Industrial Precinct consists of marine services primarily dealing with ship lifts, ship repair plots, warehouses, workshops, as well as supporting retail and showrooms.

KEO said tthe DMC master planning and infrastructure project will support the organisation’s vision, which aims to capitalize on Dubai’s market strengths and position it as a regional and global maritime hub.
The project intends to create an urban lifestyle for the maritime community, said company officials at a recent signing ceremony held in Dubai.

Speaking at the event, Youssef Khalifeh, the VP of Corporate Business Development & Special Projects at KEO, said: "It is a privilege to work with the Dubai Maritime City to develop a master plan and the necessary infrastructure to support the country’s vision in being a regional and global maritime hub."

The signing ceremony was attended by Ali bin Towaih Al Suwaidi, the general manager of the DMC; Fadil Binshafi, partner at KEO Dubai; Glenn Platt, the managing director of KEO-Infrastructure; Glen Sullivan, KEO’s director of Infrastructure Services; Gamal Ahmed, KEO’s business development manager of infrastructure and Prathish Unni, senior project manager in the infrastructure division.

KEO`s consultancy services will include the development of the DMC final master plan; infrastructure master plan and traffic studies as well as the preparation of infrastructure design and build documentation for the first phase of the project, added Khalifeh.

Addressing the gathering, Platt said: "We are honoured to build and lead strong, trusted partnerships with clients such as the DMC.  I am confident that KEO’s team of international professionals will work admirably on this project to support DMC’s vision and solidify Dubai’s place as a leader in the maritime industry."
