Empower's summer campaign 'a big success'

UAE-based Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) said its summer campaign ‘Smile at 24 degrees’ this year has been a big success resulting in 5.4 per cent savings on district cooling energy consumption.

Its summer campaign ran for four months from June aimed at raising awareness on the unified move to achieve sustainable development and the importance of energy conservation.

During the awareness drive, Empower asked its district cooling consumers to set their air-conditioning units to 24 deg C to help save on their electricity bill, while also saving on energy and the future.

Empower CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar said: "The positive response that we received has prompted us to further develop and implement more programs and initiatives that can help make people more informed about the significance of energy conservation and how they can play their part in Dubai's move to achieve sustainable development, while saving on district cooling consumption bills.”-TradeArabia News Service
