Bahrain begins handover of East Hidd land lots

MANAMA, November 6, 2018

Bahrain's housing ministry has started the distribution of 498 land lots under the East Hidd Housing Project which will continue until the end of this week, reported BNA.

The 242-hectare development will boast 4,537 housing units accommodating 30,000 people, stated the report citing a senior official.

The beneficiaries have already inspected the plots and signed the ownership contracts, said Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the undersecretary at the Housing Ministry.

He said that the housing ministry had delivered a lecture on the construction, technical and architectural requirements of the building of the units ahead of the contract signature and the distribution process, he noted.

According to him, the project’s plots are connected with the network of infrastructure and basic services, which will enable the citizens to begin building their units immediately.

East Hidd Housing Projects is a key project in the Housing Ministry’s plan to build 25,000 units included in the Government Action Plan and emanating from the Royal Order to build 40,000 units, said the BNA report.

It features key amenities and services including a health centre, nine mosques, six schools, four public gardens besides 35 km of marine parks, 19 children's playgrounds, 39 km of shaded areas, 3.8 km of walkways and bicycle lanes.
