Sharjah working on key tourism, entertainment projects

Sharjah authorities said work was going as per schedule on its key tourism and entertainment projects, including the Khorfakkan Square Park, which will come up on a 163,000-sq-m area, in addition to several academic and service projects in the emirate.
 
HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inspected these vital projects in the city of Khorfakkan today (December 20) morning.
 
Sheikh Sultan began his visit by inspecting the academic projects and the new expansion of the University of Sharjah, Khorfakkan Branch, and examined the progress of work in the buildings, classes and various facilities. 
 
During the tour, he was briefed by Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW), on the ongoing projects.
 
Following the expansion work, the university will add a number of buildings, classrooms and educational and administrative facilities on a 22,000-sq-m area.
 
Sheikh Sultan later visited the Khorfakkan Square Park site and reviewed its entertainment services and facilities.
