Eureka project wins Bahrain's top smart buildings award

MANAMA, October 13, 2021

Bahrain-based developer Eureka for Smart Properties said it has won top honours for its premium residential project Violet at the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2021.
The first building with fully automated smart home solutions at Amwaj Islands, Violet offers a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, said a statement from the company.
Established in 2014, Eureka is a leading provider of automation, smart enabled ELV, and smart living solutions. It has a proven record in engineering, designing, developing, and delivering the latest technology smart products that address the requirements of the users.
The Smart City Solutions – Smart Buildings Award was presented to Eureka at a key ceremony held on October 11 at the Gulf Hotel’s Gulf Conventions Centre.
The event was inaugurated by Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf in the presence of Housing Minister Bassim bin Yacoob Al Hamar and senior officials.
More than 250 technology, sustainability and smart cities experts and officials from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE took part in the two-day event.
On the win, Samer Al Shaker, the Chief Technology Officer of Eureka, said: "It is a big honour for our team to receive this award acknowledging our approach to create reliable, cost effective and scalable smart living spaces, which was possible through extensive research and development to achieve fully integrated yet addressing our clients’ local and international needs in Bahrain and Middle East markets."
Lauding the organisers for hosting the event in such challenging times, CEO Wael Mousa said: "I am amazed with the success that has been achieved in this summit, and raise my hat for the organisers who went the extra mile to prepare, plan, and deliver one of the most successful summits in the region from all aspects."
Bahrain-based facility and property management company Impact Estate is the exclusive property and facilities manager for Violet.
On the unique concept, Al Shaker said smart technologies have been integrated into every apartment in the luxury Violet Residence, hence offering unique living experience by utilising innovative technologies.
"Envision residing in a place where you will be in complete control of the apartment, where your handset converts into remote device, your voice commands, and identity recognition from the moment you step into the building," he remarked.
"The Eureka Smart Home system automatically reacts to your presence so you feel comfortable and safe. The security system, air conditioning, lights and shading, anything you want — work according to your needs, intelligently and harmonically, as if you were setting it all up with your hands. But you don’t do anything, allowing technology to work its charm," he added.
Mousa said tenants and buyers have access to features such as remote front-door access, 24-hour video security through their mobile phones, the ability to change temperature and lighting, and management of utilities.
Homeowners will also be able to use motion sensors within their apartments and open and close blinds and curtains with a button. Each of these features can also be controlled by voice activation.
The new smart system is added to each unit free of charge and will be operated by a centrally managed and building monitoring system, he added.
